Montpelier Lucille Stridsberg Demers, 83, of Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center, died Friday, June 26, 2009. She was born November 26, 1925 in Middlesex, the daughter of Carl A. Stridsberg & Elsie Stridsberg Morrill and the step daughter of Melvin K. Morrill. She was educated in Middlesex Schools and graduated in 1944 from Montpelier High School. Lucille married Robert M. Demers in 1948. She is survived by their children, Randall Demers and his wife, Candy of Middlesex and Vicki Jane Roux and her husband, Lloyd of Williamstown; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Claire Couture of East Montpelier and Florida, two brothers, Melvin Morrill of Morganton, N.C., and Donald Morrill of Barre. She was predeceased by one brother, Alva "Tootie" Stridsberg. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Rebecca Clark, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Berlin Corners Cemetery.
