Obituary

East Montpelier, VT Lloyd "Bud" Hulbert, 90, formerly of Brazier Road and Heaton Woods, and mostly recently of Woodridge Nursing Home, passed peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Central Vermont Medical Center. He was born on January 20, 1922, in Bernardsville, NJ, the son of Clarence A. and Almida (Hoye) Hulbert. He attended Bernardsville High School On April 13, 1943, he married the late Mary Svenson in New York City. Mrs. Hulbert predeceased him on June 26, 1997. On July 8, 1942, he enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater until his honorable discharge on November 15, 1945. Bud worked as a carpenter and also as the Superintendent of Maintenance and Construction at the Boy Scout Training Center. He retired as a supervisor in the Building Operations department for AT&T. He was a neighbor and faithfully attended the Old Meeting House Church in East Montpelier Center. Surivors include his children; daughter, Barbara Robertson and her husband Dale and their children, Dan Robertson and his family and Bruce Robertson; daughter, Gurly Hulbert Niewood, the widow of Gerry Niewood and their children, Adam Hulbert Niewood and his family and Elizabeth Niewood; son, Lloyd Hulbert, Jr. and his wife Margaret and their children, Patrice Proctor and family, Jenny Proctor LaFlesh and family, Sean Hulbert and family, and Matthew Hulbert and family. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Alvin Hulbert. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Old Meeting House Church in East Montpelier Center. Committal prayers with military honors will be held privately at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, VT.
