In Loving Memory of Lloyd D. Eldred
Lloyd D. Eldred, a beloved husband and respected member of the community, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024 at Central Vermont Hospital. He was surrounded by the love of his wife, Rotha Eldred.
Born on August 1, 1935 in Belvidere, VT to Owen and Beulah Eldred, Lloyd lived a life filled with purpose and touched the hearts of all who knew him. Lloyd graduated from Montpelier High School in 1955. He later joined the United States Army where he served his country for 9 years.
Lloyd worked at Central Vermont Hospital in the buildings, grounds and maintenance department for many years. He retired from Central Vermont Hospital and then enjoyed spending time with his wife Rotha and beloved pet Gunner.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Rotha Eldred of Washington, VT. Also, his beloved children, Robert Eldred of Barre, Lloyd Eldred, Jr. and wife Dorothy of West Topsham, Dennis Purrington and wife Angie of Killeen, Texas, Darcy Wheeler and husband Herman of Killeen, Texas, Dallas Anderson and husband Ryan of Temple, Texas. Lloyd is also survived by his siblings Gerald Eldred of Ohio, Rodney Eldred of Barre, VT, Larry Eldred of Hardwick, VT, Jean Bellevue of Barre, VT and Brenda Bellevue also of Barre, VT. Lloyd is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Owen and Beulah Eldred, and his brother, Adrian Eldred.
In his free time, Lloyd pursued various interests and hobbies. He could often be found enjoying nature, hunting, fishing, wood working, and spending time with family.
Lloyd D. Eldred's essence will forever remain in our hearts. His legacy as a devoted husband, a contributing member of society, and a beacon of kindness will continue to inspire us for generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace.
A spring burial will be held at North Branch Cemetery in Middlesex, VT at the discretion of his family.
