Obituary

Lindsay Holt, 41, of Montpelier, passed away September 7th unexpectedly in a tragic accident.

Born August 20th, 1983, with her twin sister Kristin Calver (Holt), in Des Moines Iowa. The daughter of Sandra Holt (Smith) and Brenton Holt.

She graduated from Montpelier High School and the Barre Technical School in 2001. From there she worked for local banks and then national banks in Washington DC before returning home and holding various financial and banking roles that allowed her to form connections to those in her local community. She was deeply passionate about this work as it allowed her to help people with everything from buying their dream home, and securing small business loans, to helping a farmer buy equipment to keep a generation's old farm in business. She enjoyed woodworking, shooting her bow, and cooking.

Her passion did not stop with her work.  Anyone who knew Lindsay knew how incredibly proud and passionate she was about her son Cooper Pratt. Constantly showcasing his artwork and musical talents. Cooper gave her life a new sense of purpose and joy.

In January 2013, her niece Olivia Lawson was born. Olivia was cut from the same cloth as her aunt and the two were constantly laughing, joking, bickering, and plotting practical jokes on each other, Kristin, and Sandra.

Survivors include her son Cooper Pratt, parents Sandra Holt (Smith) and Brenton Holt, Stepmother Lisa Holt (Wieggers), sister Kristin Calver (Holt) and husband Thomas Calver, niece Olivia Lawson, sister Katie Holt, brother Eric Holt, her longtime partner Jay Jeror, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents Anita Dwinell (Richardson) and Gerald Smith, and paternal grandparents Richard Holt and Sally Holt (Devoid).

Lindsay also leaves behind dozens of lifelong friends and a core group of women who she held dear since childhood. Several have remarked on her passing over the recent days, calling her "pure sunshine". As of writing this, it hasn't rained since she left us. Absorb every ray of light you can and know that she is with you as the light warms your skin.

Calling hours to remember and celebrate Lindsay's life will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Guare and Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street in Montpelier, VT from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
