Linda M. Tucker, 60, of South Woodbury, died on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
She was born on December 17, 1950 in Hardwick, the daughter of Patrick and Theresa (Renaud) Ferland.
She graduated from Hardwick Academy in 1968 and continued her education at Trinity College in Burlington, VT, where she received her bachelors in education degree in 1972.
She began her career as a teacher, first in Hardwick, then worked at the Woodbury Elementary School. She taught elementary school children for 30 years before retiring in 2007. For the past 3 years she worked as the assistant town clerk in Woodbury.
On August 23, 1974, she married Bruce Tucker at St. Norberts Hardwick, VT.
She was a member of St. Norbert's Catholic Church and was very active with the Woobury Library.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce Tucker of South Woodbury; two sons, Thomas Tucker of Woodbury, and Nathaniel Tucker and his wife Whitney of Northfield, VT; her mother, Theresa Ferland of Hardwick; a sister, Helen Willey of Hardwick; six brothers, Patrick Ferland of Barton, Reggie Ferland of Hardwick, Karl Ferland of Hardwick, Rusty Ferland and his wife Debbie of Hardwick, Bradley Ferland and his wife Sharon of Hardwick, and Todd Ferland and his wife Lori of Hardwick; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Patrick in 2008.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardwick.
