Linda Ann (Savage) Martin, 76, of Williston Woods, Williston, VT and formerly of Worcester and Underhill died March 7, 2018 after a brief illness.
She was born on August 16, 1941 in Hartford Connecticut the daughter of Leo and Mabel (Blake) Savage. Moved to Lancaster New Hampshire and graduated from Lancaster High School. From there moved to Montpelier and worked at National Life. At that time she met Bradley Martin and moved to Worcester Vermont. They were married Feb. 25th 1961 and started a family in 1962. Bradley predeceased her September 8th, 2006.
Linda moved to Underhill in 1975 with the family and worked part time as a crossing guard for the school. She also worked at a local day care until she decided to take after school kids in to her home. She spent some time working at the Conservatory of Ballet and Agway.
Most recently she lived at Williston Woods where she lived with her cats. She tried to settle in after losing the love of her life but could never really feel at home. She had just started yoga and going to lunch with the people she met at Williston Woods. She spoke fondly of all of them.
Linda is survived by a son, Tracy Martin and wife, Beverly of Jericho, VT; and his children, Tracy Martin Jr, & wife Amy and their children Lexi, Cole, Drew Bradley N. Martin and wife Savanna, and their children, Hunter, Haylee Nicole Martin and her children, Braden, Niyellah, Daniel (due May 2018);daughter, Lynn Knight and husband, Steve of Westford,VT; and their children, Brittany and Cassidy; daughter, Kim Charland and husband, Jerry of Richmond,VT; and their children, Anna, Emily, Courtney, Katie and Allison.
Also surviving are her brother, Frank Savage and wife Mary Jane; sister, Brenda Savage; brother, George Blake; sister, Diane Peterson; sister in law, Cecile Martin; daughter in law, Yvonne Hayes and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was very special to all of them.
There were many special children that she liked to call her "adopted" kids. There are too many to name and she loves you all. She also started adopting grandkids. Whoever she met, she had some type of fondness for them. She believed there was always good in people and the bigger her family, the better.
Her biggest pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also had a special love for all her nieces, nephews and their families. Linda had many special friends and made many more as time went on.
Linda was predeceased by her husband, Bradley Tracy Martin; daughter, Marsha L. Martin; Mother, Mabel Savage; Father, Leo Savage; sister, Lois Swenson and brother-in-law, Bill Swenson and nephew, Steve Swenson; mother-in-law, Blanche Martin and father-in-law, Walter Martin Sr.; brother-in-law, Rudolph Martin; brother-in-law, Walter Martin and sister-in-law, Elsie Martin; daughter-in-law, Brenda Williams; sister-in-law, Eleanor Blake; her Beloved pet cats, Paws & Nugget.
Any one that knew Mom, Grammy, Sister, Aunt, Friend, neighbor, fairy god mother, Linda knew she was always forgiving no matter what choices were made. She saw the good in everyone. She was the comfort on the other end of the phone, no matter what time it was.
She loved her family & friends, celebrations, animals, bingo, gambling and scratch off tickets!!
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 17th from 1-2 pm at Worcester United Methodist Church.
A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm at the church and a reception will follow in the parish hall.
Burial will be held for the family in the spring.
