Obituary

Linda A. Kilburn, age 72, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, at Mayo Nursing Home in Northfield, VT. She was born on May 27, 1952, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Walter and Jean (Cox) Potrzeba. She was a graduate of Montpelier High School before going on to study at UVM in VT.

On August 19, 1972, Linda married Roy Kilburn in Berlin. Together, they raised two sons, Ryan and Taylor Kilburn. Though their marriage ended in 2022, they shared many cherished memories, including their joint ownership of Concepts in Cabinetry in Barre. Linda also had a long career in healthcare, working at Dr. Betrand's Eye Care in Montpelier, Berlin Oral Surgery, and Berlin Family Health.

In 2012 Linda was diagnosed with Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA), and she retired in 2014 due to this illness. Despite these challenges, she continued to nurture her family with unwavering love and devotion. Linda was the heart of family gatherings, always bringing everyone together with warmth and generosity.

Linda had an incredible love for music and loved all genres of music throughout her life. Music was a constant companion to her in the last 4 years.

Linda loved spending time in Maine for vacations.

She was a selfless person with the biggest heart, always ready to help those in need. She was a humble soul who often stood in the background, never seeking recognition, though she was always the one making a difference.

Linda's deep love for her family and her kind spirit left an incredible mark on all who knew her.

Linda leaves behind her children Ryan Kilburn, Berlin, VT, Taylor Kilburn, Barre, VT along with her Grandchildren Aiden, Lily, and Max Kilburn.  Siblings Robert Potrzeba of Barre, VT, Nanci Calderwood (Thomas) of Gulfport, FL, Bernie Potrzeba (Rachelle) of Hyde Park, NY, Laurette Edmunds (Randall) of Barré, VT.  She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Her parents Walter Potrzeba and Jean (Potrzeba) Leno, predeceased her and some aunts and uncles.

Arrangements are in the care of Guare and Sons Funeral Home of Montpelier, Vermont.  A private family service will be held at a later date.
