Lee Patrick O'Neill passed away October 5 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was born September 10, 1955, in Spokane Washington to Elizabeth Hill O'Neill and LeGrand Cannon Cramer. He changed his name to honor his stepfather, William O'Neill of Bristol, Vermont.
Lee attended school in Bristol, Vermont.
He leaves behind his wife of almost 40 years, Susan, Somersworth, NH; four children Kimberly O'Neill, Bolton, Vermont; Benjamin O'Neill, East Hardwick, Vermont; David O'Neill, Montpelier, Vermont; and Caitlin Capiglioni from Olympia, Washington.
Lee also leaves two sisters, Wendy and Ellen; a sister-in law, Donna, all of Dover, NH; a brother Keith and his family in Ohio; a cousin, Yolanda Hill in St. Albans, Vermont; and many nieces and nephews.
Lee worked for many years as a houseparent at Taylor House in Montpelier; as a living skills instructor and houseparent in Montpelier and Waterbury Vermont. He also worked in the deli at the Grand Union and many years at Brooks Pharmacy, both in Montpelier, followed by several years at Rite Aid in Barre, Vermont.
He was kind and compassionate to everyone he came into contact with, and shared his wonderful heart with all of us.
A memorial reception will be held 11:00 am on Friday, October, 9th at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at the Green Mount Cemetery.
