Keith M. Reiner, age 51, died at his home on Sunday, Dec. 28th.
He was born in New York City on Nov. 8, 1957, the son of Claire Tuohy Reiner and the late Vincent Karl Reiner.
He received a BA from Queens College and an MBA from Georgia State University. Keith started his career in hospitality finance in Atlanta, and later worked for Swissôtel in Atlanta , Boston , and Zurich Switzerland before joining Ritz Carlton, Kapalua HI. He married Denise Sullivan in 1991; they had three children. In 2000 he and his family moved to Vermont, to become CFO for The Garrett Hotel Group in Burlington , where he oversaw all financial operations of the holding corporation and for five exclusive hotels and restaurants.
Keith is survived by his mother Claire, brother Vincent, both of Queens , NY , former wife Denise Sullivan, his beloved three children Erin, Michael, and Emma of East Montpelier, his close friend Sandy Kapsalis of Shelburne and close friends he considered brothers for life.
Keith derived his greatest joy from his children, traveling many miles to attend their concerts, sporting events, and school functions. He very much appreciated Vermont 's considerable beauty through canoeing, climbing mountains and skiing, enjoyed yoga and classic movies, and was a Monty Python fan of long standing.
As a way to give back to this community that had become his own, he volunteered his time and financial expertis to J.u.M.P., a local charitable ministry organization.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM on Saturday January 3, 2008, at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School St., Montpelier, VT.
