Kay Louise Edson

Montpelier, VT

Kay Edson of Montpelier, VT, and most recently of Chestnut Place in Berlin, VT, passed away on July 28, 2025, in Burlington, VT.

Kay was born on April 9, 1946, to her parents, Robert R. Edson and Evelyn Stowell Edson, in Montpelier, VT.

Kay graduated from Montpelier High School and attended Northeastern University. Kay worked at National Life Insurance Company as a stock trader for over 30 years, reaching the level of Vice President and Head Equity Trader.

Kay was a member of the Twin City Women's Bowling Association and competed in many bowling tournaments with her mother, Evelyn. She was inducted into the Vermont Chapter of the USBC Women's Hall of Fame in 2001 for meritorious service.

Kay was a dedicated member of Altrusa International for many years. She had an unwavering passion for her beloved Boston Red Sox. She had a love for games, golf, knitting, and crocheting, and she rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy and would usually have the right answer before the contestant.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Robert R. and Evelyn Edson, her brother David, and nephew Joshua David.

Kay is survived by her brothers, Robert S. Edson (wife Nancy) and Donald G. Edson (wife Mary). Kay is also survived by her niece, Christine (husband Dan), and nephew Andy (wife Rona), both of Nashville, TN.

A graveside service will be held at Berlin Corners Cemetery on August 26, 2025, at 11:00 am.
