Katherine M. Thresher, 67, of Berlin, VT died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Woodridge Nursing Home. She was born on April 28, 1949, in Montpelier, the daughter of Carroll Clare Fordham and Lois Frederica (Sweeney) Fordham. Katherine attended West Berlin Grade School and graduated from Montpelier High School in the Class of 1967. After graduation, Katherine worked for New Hampshire Life Insurance Company and also National Life Insurance Company in Montpelier. On October 23, 1971 she married Donald Roy Thresher at the Berlin Congregational Church. They have two children together, Brittany and Ryan. Katherine was a devoted home maker and loving wife; mother; and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and especially the time she had with her grandson, Jack. She enjoyed camping on Crystal Lake, tending her perennial garden including succulents. Katherine was fond of all animals, especially cats and enjoyed raising chickens. Katherine is survived by her husband, Donald R. Thresher of Berlin, VT; daughter, Brittany Perry and her husband, Daniel and their son, Jack Jaydon Perry of East Montpelier; son Ryan Thresher of Berlin; four brothers, Ken Fordham, Berlin; David Fordham, Randolph; Donald Fordham, Berlin and Jimmy Fordham Montpelier. She was predeceased by her parents and an infant sister, Beverly. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 6-8 pm at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm at the end of calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring at Berlin Corners Cemetery.
