East Calais, VT Katherine Rose "Kay" Bowen, 90, of Route 14 in East Calais, died on Thursday, January 02, 2014 at the Woodridge Nursing Home. She was born in Fairlee, VT on May 18, 1923, the daughter of Daniel and Lena (Leonard) Morrison. She attended schools in Waits River. On February 15, 1941, she married Myron A. Bowen in Marshfield, VT. Mr. Bowen predeceased her in 1992. Mrs. Bowen was a member of the East Calais Church. She enjoyed crotching and cake decorating and she was exceptional at growing gardens. Survivors include her daughter; Patricia Lamberton and her husband, Cy of East Calais; son, Donald E. Bowen of Litchfield, ME; son, Gene M. Bowen and his wife, Peggy of East Calais; son, Keith Bowen of South Barre; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her son; Myron John Bowen in 2008 and her siblings; Pearl Austin, Margaret Brown, Edith Maskell, Ruby Fotovich, Gordon Morrison, and Kenneth Morrison. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in East Calais in the spring.
