Montpelier, VT Katharine P. Frantz, 89, formerly of Pennsylvania, but most recently of Forest Drive in Montpelier, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born on September 18, 1942 in Bristol, PA, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Roberts) Pitzonka. After graduating high school from Linden Hall in Lititz, PA in 1942, she later received a Bachelor's degree in fashion design from Acadia College in Glenside, PA in 1946. In May of 1948, she married William F. Frantz, Sr. in Bristol PA. Mr. Frantz predeceased her on April 10, 2007. She worked primarily as a homemaker, caring for her family. Katharine was a member of the "Questers"; a group of individuals interested in history and antique treasures. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed gardening and cooking. Katharine moved to the Central Vermont Area in 2008 to be closer to her family. Survivors include her son; William Frantz, Jr. of Berlin; and a grandson, Rajan L. Frantz of Montpelier. She was predeceased by a sister, Louisa Collier and a brother Bill Pitzonka. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff at Woodridge Nursing Home.
