Julie Jane Michaud, of George Street Montpelier, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at her home. She was 57 years old.
She was born on November 29, 1961, the daughter of Corbett and Marsha (Anderson) Nielson. She graduated from Montpelier High School in the class of 1980 and later earned a Bachelors degree in Education from Lyndon State College, where she met her husband Frank Michaud.
For 22 years Julie worked for, what is now the Montpelier Roxbury School district, where she was an Instructional Assistant. It was here that she helped countless Montpelier Students with their education.
In August 1986, Julie married Frank Michaud at the Bethany Church in Montpelier. Together they enjoyed many vacations and adventures as a family. Julie enjoyed more than anything spending time with her family. She could always be found caring for others, whether that be helping a child at school or her own children at home, friends, or just acquaintances. She was always thinking of others first. Julie and her husband were also members of the Central Vermont Boat Club. She enjoyed Boating, Camping, walking the beach in Maine, reading, and watching movies, especially on lifetime and the hallmark channel.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Michaud of Montpelier; her children, Emily Michaud of Montpelier and Corey Michaud and his wife, Lauren of Middlesex; parents, Corbett and Mary Nielson of Montpelier; siblings, Lynn Wilkinson of Duxbury, Chad Nielsen of Roxbury, Chris Nielsen of Utah, and Michael Wilkinson of South Burlington
A memorial service will be held 3:30 on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Bethany Church in Montpelier. A reception will follow at the Capitol Plaza.
In lieu of flowers, the familys request is for donations to the Montpelier Roxbury School District to be used for enhancing initiatives to promote literacy in memory of Julies love and passion for working with children.
