Springfield, VT/Stowe, VT Joyce E. Lang (91), formerly of Stowe and most recently of Springfield, VT, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on October 29, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 5, 1924 in Stowe, the daughter of Jerome and Effie (Shepard) Wilkins. She graduated from Stowe High School in 1942 and later attended nursing training at the Wellesley Childrens Hospital in Boston MA. On January 22, 1944, she married Carroll Lang in Stowe. Mr. Lang predeceased her on February 18, 1984. She worked as a wife and mother on the Lang family Goldbrook Farm. There with much happiness she raised her family. Joyce was a lifelong member of the Stowe Community Church. She belonged to several local organizations, including the Ladies Aid and the Eastern Star. She also took great pride in sharing her beautiful voice as a member of a singing trio from Stowe. The trio sang on the radio and at many other events. Survivors include her children; Claudia Rabe and her husband Heinz of Germany, Lorelei Frohman and her husband Mark of Waterbury Center, VT, Stephen Lang and his wife Debbe of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joy Benson and her husband Tim of Springfield, VT, Mark Lang of Stowe, VT, Carroll Lang, Jr of Moscow, VT, Patrick W. Lang and Betty Cenicola of Westwood, NJ, and Meghan Lang and her husband Douglas Proulx of Stowe, VT; She had a great love for her 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, multiple Neices and Nephews, her beloved "little man" Shadow and many life long friends. She was predeceased by her 4 brothers and 2 sisters. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Stowe Community Church. The committal will be at a later date.
