Joyce B. Collette, 75, of Upper Main Street, Montpelier died December 21st at Berlin Health & ReHab Center after a long illness. She was born October 28, 1934 in Williamstown, VT the daughter of Stanley & Frieda (Bundy) Bellam. She received her education in schools in Shelburne and graduated from Shelburne High School in 1952. In her early working years she worked at the Shelburne Creamery and later as a nurses' aid for many years at the former Putnam Rest Home in Putnamville and Heaton House in Montpelier. She was married to Ted Brooker and later she was married to Jack Dutton who is now deceased. Joyce was then married to Marvin Collette. Joyce was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Montpelier and the Trinity Episcopal Church in Shelburne. She was a longtime member of the Christian Women's Club. She loved music and enjoyed being a member of the Trinity Choir. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Collette of Montpelier; daughter, Kimberly Dutton of Barre and a son, Brian Brooker of Enosburg, VT; four step-daughters, Jackie Hatch of Northfield, VT; Candi Gingras of Milton, VT; Roxanne Dutton of Tuscon, AZ; Lori Renaud of Barre, VT and two step-sons, Michael Dutton of Cedar Park, TX and Lafe Dutton of San Diego, CA; a sister, Barbara Wilson of Valatie, NY.She is also survived by several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by a son, Craig Brooker in 2008 and a brother, Clyde Bellam. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier.
