Obituary

Josh Scribner of East Montpelier, VT passed away on August 28, 2024 surrounded by

his loving family.

He was born on May 19, 1974 to Edward and Susan Scribner.

He attended U32 High School and graduated from Vermont Technical College with a

degree in Automotive Technology. For most of his career he worked at Cody Chevrolet

as an ASE Master Technician and a GM Certified World Class Technician. He was a

mentor and the top of his field for his excellence. That was evident in customers

requesting him to work on their vehicles and reaching out to him for advice on various

automotive inquiries.

On August 4, 2001 he married the love of his life Tracy Cano, and after they made their

home in East Montpelier and created a beautiful life for themselves and their 5 children

in the home he built for them.

Josh and Tracy were best friends and enjoyed being with each other whether they were

off to a weekly date night, vacationing on the beach, going for rides in his truck on

backroads, to running errands or just snuggling one another on the couch watching TV

just being together was all that mattered. They would always say I love you, with one of

them always replying back with I love you more.

As a proud, loving and devoted father he was happiest spending time with his family.

Camping trips, supporting his children by attending sporting events, dance competitions,

chaperoning many field trips and always being available for his children when they

needed him. He would always answer their phone calls, ready to help with any problem

that had arisen or needed fixing. They will have fond memories of Josh making

breakfast on Easter and Christmas mornings through the years. He was a great cook

whether he was smoking ribs in his smoker, grilling on his Blackstone or making chili in

the crockpot.

Those who knew Josh will remember him for his kindness and willingness to help

anyone, that there was nothing he couldn't do.

We will miss his enthusiastic laugh and his beautiful smile with his adorable dimples.

If you were lucky enough to know him, you loved him. We were blessed to have him in

our lives and will feel his loss forever.

Josh is survived by his loving wife Tracy Cano-Scribner and four children Mallory Cano-

Scribner, Jackson Scribner, Madyson Scribner and Preston Scribner, his parents

Edward and Susan Scribner, his brothers Chad Scribner and Ben Scribner, his mother

and father in-law Jill and Steve Cano. He also leaves behind nieces and a nephew,

uncles, aunts, cousins, as well as many friends who will miss him deeply.

He was predeceased by his daughter Allyson Jill, his grandparents Richard and Marian

Merchant and his cousin Ted Merchant.

There was a private service celebrated earlier this month with family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution for Josh's children may be made to Tracy

Cano-Scribner to go towards their education and training.
