Joseph Benjamin Picard Jr, 80 of Middlesex, VT passed away at St. Johnsbury Center for Living and Rehabilitation on January 29th, 2026. Born on July 8th, 1945, in Barre, VT. He was the son of the late Joseph Picard Sr. and Marie (Senecal) Picard. He grew up and attended school in Middlesex, VT. He married Beverly Jean Gaudett on May 30th, 1975.

He was self-employed and enjoyed cutting firewood, plowing snow, sanding driveways, and brush hogging. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, dancing, and bike riding. He also enjoyed spending time with family, going lawn saling and collecting things.

He was predeceased by his wife Beverly, mother Marie, father Jospeh and 4 sisters: Jeannette Gray; Margaret Barclay, Marie Picard and Alice King.

He is survived by his children: Daughters: Carloe Picard of Middlesex, VT and Joanne (Picard) Herring and husband Jess of Worcester, Son: Jospeh Picard III and wife Shelby of Montpelier. Grandchildren: Kaylee (Herring) Russell and husband Jacob; Shaina Herring; Carl Wendel; Meriah Wendel; Josph Picard IV; Jazzmine Picard; Benjamin Hopkins; Jake Hopkins; Addie Picard; Jordan Picard; Hunter Picard; Kenzie Picard; and Logan Picard. Great Grandson; Holden Russell.

He is also survived by 2 sisters: Irene Weston and her husband Winston Weston Sr. of Middlesex, VT; Theresa Beard of Brookfield, VT and 5 brothers: John Picard and his wife Megan; James Picard and his wife June; Emile Picard and his wife Tammy; Dick Picard and his partner Charlene Govea, all of Middlesex, VT and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on May 29, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Middlesex Center Cemetery (485 Center Rd, Middlesex, VT 05602), followed by a celebration of life at the Montpelier VFW (1 Pioneer St, Montpelier, VT 05602).
