He served as a subdeacon in Jamaica, New York, deacon, priest, and then rector in New Haven CT and Claremont NH until his retirement in 2002. He continued in printing sales before purchasing a printing company in 1975 and naming it the Claremont Print Shoppee, which was open until 1985. John attended Keene State College, earning a Bachelor's Degree and taught printing at Springfield (VT) High School. He later went on to work for the Argus Champion newspaper before joining Ruth at LaCrosse Footwear for 10 years before retiring in 2002. John and Ruth moved to Barre Vermont, where he worked at Hannaford's Supermarket in Barre VT for 7 years and at Spaulding High School as a substitute teacher.
In his spare time, John especially loved reading, learning history, researching his family genealogy, and enjoying time with his family.
