Marshfield, VT John D. Tibbetts, 75, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the home of his daughter and son in law in Barre Town, VT. He was born on September 25, 1935 in Nashua, NH, the son of Cecil and Julia (Lucy) Tibbetts. He attended school in Nashua and worked in construction, drove tractor trailers, and was a real estate broker. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his boat "The Ole Timer". He also spent much time wood working, making tables and large lawn gliders. He enjoyed gardening as well. John moved to Marshfield many years ago and was the fifth generation of Tibbetts to live at the family homestead in Marshfield, VT. He is survived by his daughters, Pattie Dupuis and her husband Serge of Barre Town, Paula Bettis of Lebanon, NH, Laurie Graham and her companion Patrick Therrian, of Randolph, VT; son, Patrick Tibbetts and his wife Terri of Plainfield, VT; grandchildren, Robert Dupuis, Matthew Dupuis, Dillon Austin; great grandchild, Abbie Dupuis, and a sister, Nancy Wynott and her husband Charlie of Hudson, NH. He was predeceased by his siblings, Judy Nye, Richard Lucy, Daniel Tibbetts, and Cecil Tibbetts, Jr. Calling hours will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Plainfield, VT.
