Richford, VT & Newark, NJ

John "Jack" Stano of Newark, NJ, and most recently of Richford, VT passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.

John was born to his parents John Stano and Betty Droban Stano in Newark, NJ on April 22, 1939.

John attended high school at Union High School in NJ. John had a long career with United Airlines and Emerey Air as an Air Freight Specialist. Upon his retirement from Emerey Air, John worked at the Suburban Golf Club in Union, NJ. After leaving Suburban, John moved to Bolton Valley in Vermont.

John had two marriages (Elizabeth Petro & Jeanne Schroeder), which resulted in five amazing children and step-children.

John had many interests and hobbies which included running, skiing, basketball, and tennis and John was known to be quite the dancer in his younger days.

John is survived by his children Elizabeth Amaral of Barre, VT, Kristin Miller of Newberry, FL, Scott Stano of Cutler Bay, FL, and step-children Christine Newton of Medford, NJ, and Mark Hilliard of Lake Hiawatha, NJ. John is also survived by his brother Bruce Stano from San Antonio, FL, and grandchildren Marie Laukhuf of Fort Johnson, LA, Adam Bartley of Goldsboro, NC, great-grandchildren Marzela Laukhuf of Fort Johnson, LA, and Grace Newton of Philadelphia, PA. As well as many extended family members and friends.

Arrangements are in the care of Guare and Sons Funeral Home in Montpelier, VT.
