Jo-Ann
Herring
November 1, 1966 – May 17, 2025
Moretown, VT
Jo-Ann Herring, age 58 of Berlin Vermont passed away on May 17th, 2025. After years of overcoming declining health issues, she is now at peace, with a renewed body to match her unwavering spirit.
Jo-Ann was the daughter of the late William "Butch" Herring II and Jean (White) Herring. She graduated in 1984 from Harwood Union High School and had a short career with Malden Mills, Maplewood Store & Deli, and Bethel Elementary School.
While she never had any children of her own, she helped raise many nieces, nephews, and cousins and was proudest of the thriving adults they have become.
Jo-Ann, aka "Jo Jo", was well known to her numerous friends and extended family for her quick-witted, upbeat personality that was larger than life.
Her adventurous nature could be found in all the activities she loved, such as camping at Goose Point Campground, riding her beloved M&M golf cart, four-wheeling, vacationing at Old Orchard Beach in Maine, singing and dancing to her favorite Rock & Roll tunes, and collecting items for seniors to provide Christmas gifts. In addition, she spent hours upon hours burning up the phone lines talking with her beloved family and friends. Her daily routine had her checking in with everyone she loved, giving them sage advice, and making their days brighter with her positive energies and humorous nature.
She is survived by her loving partner of 23 years, Robert "Bobby" Franks, her mother Jean Herring, her brother Billy Herring and his wife Lucy, her sister Jenny Carroll and her husband Steve, her special nephews Dillon Carroll and William Herring III, and her treasured nieces Miranda Carroll and Link Herring, and a ton of close extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at the Waterbury-Stowe Fish and Game Club, 5365 Waterbury-Stowe Road, Waterbury Center, VT starting at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of memorial contributions she would have rather you take an hour of your time collecting and disposing of road-side trash to keep our lands beautiful for years to come.
