Jane Lois (Caron) Jewett died Thursday, April 17 at Fletcher Allen Health Care surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Born on February 8, 1940 in Barre, the daughter of Henry Caron of Penacook , NH and Pearl Hedding of Craftsbury, VT.
Jane has lived all her life in Vermont , was currently residing in Berlin but had previously lived in Northfield and Montpelier Jane was married to Harley Breer of Cabot , VT in August of 1959 and they had four children. On March 4, 1972 she married Raymond Jewett in Montpelier.
Jane worked 37 years at Grand Union which is now Shaw's in Montpelier as a bookkeeper/clerk. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. Jane's favorite things to do were to play Bingo, read mystery novels, gardening and going to theatre shows. She was always willing to help her family and friends and was a loving, kind and generous mother, grandmother as well as friend. She was a best friend to many especially her daughters. She was always upbeat and had a smile on her face. She was an on the go person. She was her family's heart and home no matter where else they may have lived. Jane was predeceased by both her parents, her husband Raymond Jewett of Northfield , VT ; her sister Frannie Stell of Alburg , VT and her brother Joseph Caron of Poultney , VT.
Survivors include: her 2 sons, Randy Breer of State Farm, VA and Cary Breer and his wife, Virginia of East Montpelier, VT; her 2 daughters, Jodi St. Angelo and her husband, James of Camp Zama, Japan and Billie Jo Gilmore and Brian of Berlin, VT; and her step-son, John Jewett of Barre , VT. Other survivors include her sister Shirley Lund of Bradford, VT; her brothers Henry Caron of Vergennes, VT; Richard Caron of Rutland, VT and Wayne Hussey of Krum, TX. She had six grandchildren Stephanie Nadeau and her husband Robert ; Mandy Beach; Briana Breer; Alicia Breer; Joseph Breer; Gilchrist St. Angelo and one great-grand child Cadence Nadeau; her Aunt Tina Alonzo of Barre, VT who was like mohter to her in her later years; also many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephewes. She leaves her dearest long life friends; Theresa and Thomas Pratt, Debbie Relations, Annie MacRitchie, Doris Martin and Bernice Kimball.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street , Montpelier . A Funeral service will be held Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
A grave side and committal service will be at Hill West Cemetery in Montgomery , VT on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
