Montpelier, VT Jan H. Perry, age 55, died at her home in Montpelier, Vermont on Monday, January 5, 2015. Born on May 8, 1959, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, she lived in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Amherst, New Hampshire, and the Pacific Northwest before settling in Montpelier. Jan attended Proctor Academy in Andover, NH, and Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. She fell in love with the Northwest and resided there for several years following college graduation. Jan was an avid outdoorswoman and especially enjoyed hiking, canoeing and skiing. She was a lifelong advocate of environmental conservation efforts. She is survived by her father, Mervyn F. Perry of Falmouth, MA, sisters Cynthia Perry of Rumney, NH and Susan Diette of Woodbridge, Connecticut, three nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her mother, Marian S. Ashworth of Hebron, NH, and brother, Richard C. Perry of Brockton, MA. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Guare & Sons/Barber & Lanier Funeral Home.
