Gregory R. Wagner, Sr. 61, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at his home at Heaton Woods.
He was born on May 3, 1947, the son of Frank and Edna (Ravlin) Wagner.
He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1966. After high school, Mr. Wagner worked for many years at the mink farm in Worcester. He later worked for Vermont State Hospital doing grounds maintenance and Everlasting Memorial Works on Pioneer Street. He also worked for Washington County Mental Health as a inclusion specialist.
In 1966, he married Nancy Cota in Montpelier. Their marriage ended in 1971.
He was a former member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed the outdoors and nature. He especially enjoyed camping and hiking with his family and drive-in movie theaters.
Survivors include his sons; Gregory Wagner, Jr. of Moretown and Christopher Wagner of North Carolina; daughter, Darlene Wagner of Barre, June King of Barre, 12 grandchildren, sisters, Archola Harlow of Montpelier, Lorraine Jenkins of Berlin, and Gaye Rouelle.and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the Middlesex Methodist Church.
