Craftsbury, VT Gordon Robert Wilkinson, 78, died on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was born on March 4, 1939, the son of Robert Chase and Flora (Malnati) Wilkinson. Gordon graduated from Montpelier High School in 1957, became a cadet at Norwich University. He graduated as 2nd Lieutenant and entered the United States Army branch of the Corp of Engineers. He and his wife Ann Meriweather Skeels moved to Williston with their two children, Lynn and Michael where Gordon became a stock broker. In 1971, they moved to Montpelier where he managed the family business. Gordie was a member of the Montpelier City Counsel, Central Vermont Rotary Club, and was a memberd of the Chamber of Commerce. In 1981, Gordon married Catherine Perry and they made their home in Dallas, PA. In 2006 they moved to Craftsbury where Gordie became a realtor. He was extremely active in the Masonic Lodge and the Mountain View Golf Club in Greensboro. Catherine Perry Wilkinson predeceased him on May 10, 2017. Survivors include his mother, Flora Wilkinson of Florida; daughter, Lynn Wilkinson and her husband Dana Griswold of Duxbury; son, Michael G. Wilkinson of South Burlington; siblings, Ronald Wilkinson and his wife Gloria of Bradenton, FL and Sandra Maxham and her husband Wendell of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren, Dakota Griswold and Jesica Libby Woodard and her husband Bryce and a great granddaughter, Makena; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
