Montpelier, VT Glendene "Deanie" R. Higgins, 86, of Prospect Street, died at Rowan Court Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. She was born in Stowe, VT on October 3, 1921, the daughter of Willis and Gertrude (Alexander) McManis. She attended St. Michael's High School. On November 6, 1965, she married David Higgins. Mr. Higgins predeceased her in November 24, 2003. She worked at the State Hospital in Waterbury and also at the Heaton House in Montpelier as a dietician until her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Post 3, and VFW post 792 in Montpelier. Glendene is survived by her sisters, Claire Fresolo, Margaret Peatman of Montpelier as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and her brothers Cecil, Willard, and Clarence "Buzzy" McManis Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Guare & sons Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held in Berlin Corners Cemetery at a later date.
