Ascutney, VT
George Walbridge Reynolds, 84, of Sunset Blvd, Ascutney died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at MT Ascutney Hospital & Health Center.
He was born on December 20, 1926 in Buffalo, New York the son of Eustace & Elizabeth (Walbridge) Reynolds.
He attended Westminster School Simsbury Conn.
George served in the United States Army during World War II as a PVT and was discharged 12/10/46.
He was an avid hiker and had been an active member of the Green Mountain Club.
On August 28, 2010 he married Mary Hayden at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Windsor Vermont.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Ascutney; two sons, John Reynolds of Palmer, Texas and Robert Reynolds of Durango Colorado, and his sister Daphane Williams of Kenett Square Pennslyvania. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Cheryl Bennett of White River Jct., four step-sons, Robert Hayden of Windsor, VT; William Hayden of Waltham, MA; Frank Hayden of Troy, AL; and Douglas Hayden of Sunappee, NH. and several neices and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Ann.
A grave side service with military honors will be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center, in the spring.
