Montpelier, VT Florence Evelyn Jacobson Bailey, age 96, widow of Bernard Bailey and daughter of Christian and Wilhelmine Bornemann Jacobson passed away on September 8, 2012 at Woodridge Nursing Home. She graduated from Montpelier Seminary. She worked at the American Legion, Boy's State and was a long-time employee of Capital City Press until her retirement at age 73. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughters Bernadette Bailey (Eugene) Peabody and Sandra Bailey (Leo) Conary and nine siblings: John (Mary) Jacobson; Anna Jacobson (William) Watson; Henry (Ella) Jacobson; William (Blanche) Jacobson; Christine Jacobson (Ruell) Baldwin; Rebecca Jacobson (Charles) Estelle; Mary Jacobson (Arthur) Hill; Christof (Lois) Jacobson and Julian Jacobson who died in infancy. She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Wild of Sumter, South Carolina; Jeanne (Douglas) Gilbert, Wells, Vermont; Clifton (Mona) Bailey, Berlin, Vermont; Nancy (Richard) Hallstrom, Waterbury, Vermont; and Barbara (Brent) Beyor of Williamstown, Vermont as well as 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with the service immediately following on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Guare and Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier with burial at the North Branch Cemetery.
