Braintree, VT Ethel Rose Lacillade, 84, of Sesame Street in Braintree, died on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Barre Gardens in Barre, VT. She was born on July 3, 1935 in Marshfield, VT, the daughter of George and Emma (Bulris) Powers. She attended public schools in Marshfield, and Montpelier. On June 15, 1957, Ethel married Howard Lacillade in Trinity United Methodist Church, Montpelier, VT. Together they had 6 children. Sadly, Howard died in 1980 leaving Ethel to raise her family on her own. She raised her family showing great strength and pride and always putting her children first. After the passing of her husband, Ethel began working as an Administrative Assistant for several different departments for the State of Vermont, including Buildings and Grounds, Vital Records, and the State Libraries. For several years she lived in North Carolina before moving back to Vermont in 2002. She was a past member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, and the Baptist Fellowship of Randolph. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and feeding her birds. Nothing meant more to her than her family; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and her beloved Pomeranian "Pepper Dog" Survivors include her children; Richard Lacillade and his companion, Vilma Nava Obias of Braintree, VT, Paul Lacillade and his wife, Carmela of East Montpelier, VT, Denise St. Pierre and her husband, Scott of Roxbury VT, Diane Meeks and her husband, Chuck of Washington, VT, Regina Hunt and her husband, Marty of Northfield, VT, and Billy Lacillade of Braintree, VT; ten grandchildren Cristie, Carrie, Shaunna, Ashley, Corey, Kevin, Monica, Lindsey, Courtney, Jesse and 14 great grandchildren; Dustin, Cole, Katlyn, Dylan Clay, Chelsie, Ryan, Branden, Lacie, Lexi, Natalie, Ryker, Adalynn and Peyton. She was predeceased by her 12 siblings, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held from 6-8:00pm on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home, 30 School Street, Montpelier, VT.
