East Montpelier, VT Elsie T. Ibey, 95, of Quaker Road in East Montpelier, died on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Central Vermont Medical Center. She was born on December 27, 1916 in East Calais, the daughter of Cecile and Kate (Pray) Tucker. She attended schools in Plainfield and graduated from Goddard Seminary School with a degree in education. On July 3, 1947, she married Gerald A. Ibey in Plainfield. Mr. Ibey predeceased her on September 26, 2004. She worked as an elementary school teacher at the Rumney School in Middlesex and later at a one room schoolhouse in Barton, VT. She spent much of her time caring for her family. She enjoyed antiquing with her husband, working in her vegetable and flower gardens, canning, and cooking for friends and family. Survivors include her son, Paul Ibey and his wife Sue of Montpelier; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by eight siblings.
