Eileen C. Morrison, 86, formerly of East Montpelier and Joe's Pond in Danville, died on June 6, 2017 with her family beside her, at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center.
She was born in Woonsocket, RI on July 11, 1930, the daughter of John Paul Lambert and Catherine Honorene Devlin. She graduated from Cumberland High School in the class of 1948.
On December 29, 1951 she married Burton Morrison in Woonsocket. They later move to Montpelier in 1955 and a few years later found their dream home in East Montpelier. Mr. Morrison predeceased her on March 19, 1994.
Eileen worked in various stores of Peter Glenn Ski Shop for over 30 years, primarily in the Women's clothing and ski clothing departments. She retired in 2007.
As a camp owner on Joe's Pond, she and her husband started the Joe's Pond Sailing Club. Eileen enjoyed officiating the different sailing events held there over the years. She enjoyed dancing, including Ballroom dancing with her husband in some of the local Montpelier High School drama productions. She also was a member of the local bridge club. In her early years she was a model for Macy's.
Survivors include her daughters, Catherine Dodge and husband Tom of Williston, and Patricia Welsh of Montpelier; grandchildren, Chelsea Lacroix and husband Christopher of Barre Town and Daniel Welsh; Great granddaughter, Leah Charlotte Lacroix; and a niece, Joyce Driscoll of Harrisville, RI.
She was predeceased by her husband and a brother, Arthur Lambert.
There will be a private family interment and no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held on July 15, 2017 at Lighthouse Christian Church; School Street; Montpelier at 11:00 am, refreshments to follow.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
