Edward A. Peterson, 91, died peacefully on May 5, 2020 at Barre Gardens on Prospect Street in Barre, VT. Ed was born September 5, 1928 in Franklin, Massachusetts to Carl and Alfreda Peterson. He attended grade school in Foxboro, Massachusetts, and graduated in 1952 from the University of Vermont with a degree in agriculture.

Ed had a long career working to promote the dairy industry, first in Vermont for the American Dairy Association, and then in Chicago for Milk Promotion Services, Inc. Upon his retirement he returned to Vermont and built a beautiful home in Middlesex. There he continued to raise his beloved Airedale Terriers, grow flowers and vegetables, and sit on his porch watching the parade of wildlife and the change of seasons.
Ed was an active member of the Central Vermont Rotary Club, and served as a District Governor. As part of his service through the Rotary, for many years Ed grew plants in his greenhouse and then distributed them to kids in the Central Vermont area for their own gardens.

In addition, Ed leaves behind grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
As per Ed's wishes, he will be buried at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT. A private burial will take place at a later date.
