Edward Billings, Sr. was born February 17, 1940. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 26, 2025.

Edward was born in Rutland, Vermont to Alexander Billings and Florence Jones. Edward was a carpenter by trade, but also was a truck driver years ago.

He loved to fish and hunt and he always had a good story to tell. He loved to go to the farm to see his friend Frank and Jimmy McCullough. He loved to spend time with his family. His family has fond memories of going to Ira, VT where they all learned to swim and catch frogs. They also went winter camping, where they would go sliding and have hot dogs over the fire. Lots of trips to the lake for a day of swimming.

He loved to garden and he loved REAL country music like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson back when country was country, much like The Highwaymen. He also loved to watch a good western show like The Rifleman or Bonanza.

Edward is survived by his wife, Patricia who he has been with for 68 years. His children, Louanne Garrow of Cape Canaveral Florida, Sheila and Rick Orticari of Bethel, VT, Edward Billings, Jr. of Chelsea, VT, David and Janice Billings of Montpelier, VT, Veronica and Robert Lowe of Washington, VT, and Ralph and Elizabeth Billings of Mt Tabor, VT. He had one deceased son, Luke Billings. He also had 3 predeceased grandchildren and 4 siblings.

Edward's love for his family includes many grandchildren and great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be announced this summer.

His faith in Jesus has brought peace to his family that we will see him again.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me so that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.
