Montpelier
Dulcina Ada Perry, 100, formerly of Mechanic Street, Lane Shop Apts., Montpelier and Fortiers Community Care Home in Barre died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Berlin Health & ReHab Center.
She was born in Berlin, Vermont on October 12, 1913 the daughter of Daniel A. & Edith Maude (Crossett) Perry. Dulcina attended Montpelier Public Schools and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1931. She later received a degree in nurses training from Mary Fletcher School of Nursing in 1935.
Dulcina had a life time career in nursing including private duty nursing and was the Director of Nursing at Barre City Hospital, Heaton Hospital and Berlin Convalescent Center. She was a member of the Mary Fletcher Nursing Association and the First Baptist Church.
Dulcina was always ready to care for family members that needed her including attending the birth of many of her nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed going to the family camp at Caspian lake in Greensboro, traveling to the Maine seacoast and to Florida, doing many crafts and playing Scrabble.
She is survived only by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Beatrix Kendall, Marjorie Crandall, Grace Hodgdon, Elizabeth Sherman, Lois Hodgdon, Morris Perry, Cortland Perry and Harold Perry.
In accordance with Dulcinas wishes, her body will be donated to UVM College of Medicine.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, School & St. Paul Street, Montpelier.
Burial will be at a later time in Green Mount Cemetery.
