Douglas E. Broadwell passed away August 15th due to massive complications from surgery. He was the son of Walter and Jeanette (Constantine) Broadwell. Douglas served in the Army and worked for Bolton Valley and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Douglas had a fantastic personality and an awesome sense of humor. He loved to garden, fish and he so much enjoyed all the wildlife in his back yard. He also had a great passion for photography and old classic movies and shows. Douglas leaves behind three children; Chris Jones and his wife Jenny and 2 grandchildren of East Barre, VT, Jessica Buswell and husband Nathan and 2 grandchildren from Cavendish, VT, and Sarah McIntosh and 1 grandchild from Melford, MA. He also leaves behind his 20 year companion, Susan Tarshis of North Montpelier, VT; two sisters, Sandra Taylor and Patricia Buckbee both of Waterbury, VT and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother, Jeanette in 2003, his father Walter in 2009, and his older brother, Robert in 1993. Douglas is being cremated and his prayer service and celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on August 22, 2015 at Shady Rill Park in Middlesex, VT.
