Dorothy Bergengren Hartman, 93, died peacefully on May 3rd at her home in Berlin , surrounded by family and loved ones. Dorothy, born April 1, 1917 in Lynn Massachusetts, is reunited with her beloved husband Edward M. Hartman in Heaven. Dorothy graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1939 and married Edward in 1940. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dedicated friend. Dorothy was an artist by nature and passion, and a long time public servant, serving as Berlin Town Clerk from 1987 to 2002, and Assistant Town Clerk from 1973 to 1987. Dorothy is survived by her children: Kathleen and Charles Pelletier, Edward and Betsy Hartman, Patricia Hartman, and Christine Hartman; her grandchildren: Joseph Indrieri, Jeff Pelletier, Kevin Indrieri, Amy Farr and Ignacio Ruiz, Craig and Abby Pelletier, Cheryl and Dean Taylor, Jen Pelletier, Radiance and Shahin Vafai, Jalali and Tiffany Hartman, Anna and Kelly Dyer, Julia and Tom Sumner, Emile Hartman, Amanda Walbridge, Jacob Walbridge; and her great grandchildren: Nolan Indrieri, Kevin Kot, Isabella Kot, Ellie Farr, Eneko Farr, Dylan Pelletier, Owen Pelletier, Samantha Taylor, Madeline Taylor, Brooke Dyer, Sasha Dyer, Munir Vafai, Bashir Vafai, Nabil Vafai, Josh Hartman; and her devoted canine companion Lexi. Calling hours will take place Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 pm at Guare & Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Montpelier at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 8th.
