Dorothy E. Ciampi, 83, died October 23, 2015, at Four Seasons in Northfield where she was a resident for many years. Dorothy was a long time Montpelier resident. She was born in Montpelier on April 3, 1932, the daughter of Bertrand C. MacDonald and Florence (Chiquette) MacDonald. Dorothy received her education in the Montpelier school system. Dorothy was married to Aldo Ciampi and they had five children. Dorothy and Aldo spent most of their married life in Montpelier. She and her family were members of the Christ Episcopal Church, State Street for many years. Her brother, Burton MacDonald, who is deceased, was a longtime sexton of the church. Survivors include three daughters, Diane Dopp of Barre, Brenda Prive and her husband Al of East Montpelier, and Sandra Bailey of Barre; two sons, Aldo Ciampi of Montpelier, and Michael Ciampi of East Montpelier. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Marie, Karen, and Richard Dopp; Tonya Hayward and Robyn Bador; Joshua and Mitchell Ciampi; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Calling hours will be held at Guare and Sons Funeral Home, on Tuesday, October 27 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 pm.
