Barre, VT
Doris Blanche Leno, 78, formerly of Montpelier and most recently of Jefferson Street Apartments in Barre, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at her home.
She was born at Heaton Hospital in Montpelier on December 29, 1930, the daughter of Ted and Agnes (Rock) Mayo. She attended Montpelier High School.
On September 10, 1949, she married Harold Leno at St. Augustine Church. Mr. Leno predeceased her on July 19, 1984.
She worked for a number of area businesses including, the Lobster Pot, National Life Café and Guesthouse, and Capital Stationers. Her most recent employment was at Central Market in Barre.
She was a member of the Montpelier Emblem Club, Barre American Legion Auxiliary, Canadian Club, Ladies of the Knights of Columbus, Ladies Moose Club, and Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of St. Augustine church.
Hobbies and interest include, knitting, vacationing in Florida and Cancun, bingo and most of all spending time with family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters; Susan Shangraw and her husband Ron of Milton; Sherrie Clark and her husband, Gary of Barre Town; and Sandra Moriarty and her husband Charles of Montpelier; Sons, Ted Leno of Barre, and Steven Leno of Montpelier; Grandchildren include Angela Morse of Barre, Erica Morse of Milton, Kevin Moriarty of Montpelier, Kyle Moriarty of Montpelier and Anna Ball of East Montpelier; and a sister, Irene Groleau and her husband Raymond of Barre Town.
Calling hours will be held 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am on Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. Augustine church.
