East Montpelier, VT Dennis R. Hawkins, 68, of Old Farm Road, died on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home after a long illness. He was born on December 7, 1951, the son of Hugh and Rachel (Badger) Hawkins. He attended Montpelier High School and later received an Associates degree from Vermont Technical College in Randolph. Dennis, along with his brother Sonny, ran the Hawkins farm in East Montpelier until the late 80s, when they sold off the herd and began offering their services, such as haying and chopping to other farms in the area. Most recently he worked a small landscaping business as well. He was married to Nancy (Bliss) Prescott. They later divorced. Survivors include his children; Nick Hawkins of Bradford, Anna Ball of Randolph, and Keith Blake of East Montpelier; his brothers, Sonny Hawkins of East Montpelier, and Gordon Hawkins of Massachusetts, his companion, Linda Ball of Waterbury; several grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
