Dean Louis Witham, 93, formerly of Weston Trailer Park in Berlin and more recently of Richmond died Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.
Dean was born on May 3, 1921 the youngest of 11 children to Burt & Eva (Ormsbee) Witham. He attended schools in Worcester and graduated from Montpelier High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served during WW 2.
He was married on August 14,1949 To Marion Louise Brickey and they had two sons, Bob & Gary.
Dean worked for the City of Montpelier, Street Department as a foreman for over 37 years. He drove snow plow, the city's old snow blower, and worked in the stock room and parts department. He retired on May 31, 1983.
He enjoyed going camping with family and friends, bowling, bingo, he was an avid deer hunter for over 30 yrs. He was a good friend to many people.
Dean is survived by his wife, Marion of Richmond; sons, Robert and his wife, Erin Witham of Colchester, VT and Gary Witham of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Rob Witham of East Hardwick; Korey & Kollin Witham of Barre; Ryan Witham of Colchester; a great grandson, Benjamin Witham of East Hardwick; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his siblings, George, Jenny, Lillian, Earle, Myrta, Mahlon, Kenneth, Bob, Raymond and Fern.
A grave-side service will be held, Saturday, August 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Berlin Corners Cemetery.
