Dana Benjamin Smith Jr., 27, of Groton, VT, tragically passed away on October 26, 2024.
He was born in Burlington, Vermont, on March 10, 1997, to Pamela Smith and Dana B. Smith Sr.
Dana graduated from Spaulding High School in 2015. He was known for his vibrant personality and infectious laughter, impacting all who knew him. A beloved son, brother, and friend, Dana brought joy to everyone he encountered. He deeply loved sports, particularly baseball and basketball, and cherished moments spent hunting and deep-sea fishing with Eastman's fishing Fleet with his father, friends, and family. His adventurous spirit was evident in his enthusiasm for mudding in his prized Toyota Tacoma. Dana also had a passion for cooking, delighting in exploring new recipes and sharing meals with loved ones.
He was predeceased by his sister, Kami; uncle, Dale; aunts, Jackie and Jeannie; both maternal and paternal grandparents; and close friend, Taylor.
While his passing creates a profound void, Dana's spirit and laughter will always be remembered by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by his loving mother, Pamela J. Smith of Barre, VT; father, Dana B. Smith Sr. and his cherished wife, Mary of Groton, VT. His siblings will deeply miss him: Ashley McElroy (Joshua) of Barre, VT; Derek Kennison of Derby, VT; Kristen Kennison of Lisbon, NH; Katie Keough of McIndoe Falls, VT; April Smith of Everett, MA; and Kody Smith of McIndoe Falls, VT. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 1:30 at The
Groton Community Building 1476 Scott Hwy, Groton, VT.
