Montpelier, VT Cynthia Ann Lawton, 72, died on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center. She was born at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction, VT, on August 22, 1939, the daughter of Allan A. and Alma (Bauer) Lawton. After being baptized in 2007, Cindy was a devoted parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she was a regular attendant of the Adoration Chapel and daily mass. Cindy would often be found sitting on the downtown benches watching the scenery and greeting local people. Cindy's friendly and outgoing nature made her well known to many of the local downtown merchants in Montpelier. After becoming a patient at the Berlin Health and Rehab Center, she quickly became endeared to the patients and staff. She is survived by a brother, Roger Lawton and his wife Pat of Hartland, VT; two nieces, Tina Chapin and Tonia Haliver and a nephew, Michael Lawton; 6 great nieces and nephews; and aunts, Peggy Rice, Bunny Bauer, and Florence Donnelly; as well as the St. Augustine parish community and very good friend, Sister Barbara. There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at St. Augustine's Church. Committal prayers will be offered in the spring at St. Augustine's Cemetery. At Cindy's request memorial contributions may be made to the Roof Project-St. Augustine's Church, c/o Rev.
