Corrine Pruneau Sheridan, 95, died Tuesday October 17, 2023 at her home in Montpelier which she shared with her son Steven and her daughter-in-law Lisa, after a 10-year battle with dementia.

Corrine was born on March 26, 1928, at Barre Hospital in Barre, VT. She was the second born and eldest daughter of Alfred and Florence Pruneau. Her formative years were spent in Barre, and all her adult years in Montpelier.

She attended Barre Elementary Schools and Graduated from Spaulding High School in 1946. She worked for a short time at National Life.

She married James Edson Sheridan of Montpelier, VT on August 12, 1950. After his military discharge, they lived in Montpelier where they raised their 3 sons. They shared 63 years together until his passing in 2013.

After marriage, Corrine became a fulltime housewife and mother, a role she cherished. All of us sons would tell you she was the best mother we could have had. She also did a lot of volunteering for St. Augustine's Church, the Montpelier Food Pantry, among others. In 2013 Corrine was honored with Montpelier's distinguished citizen award. In later years she enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, traveling, reading, many crafts, spending time working in her yard and with family.

She is survived by her 3 sons, James, Gary and wife Paula, Steven and wife Lisa, grandchildren, Gary Jr. and wife Megan, Deborah, David and partner Michelle, Matthew, Michael and wife Ashley. Great grandchildren Jordan, Arie, Jared Jr., Sophie, Sadie, and Elodie.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Arthur, Delores, and Joan and her grandson in-law Gary Sanderson.

Per wishes of the family, there will be no funeral services. Interment will be in the Middlesex Cemetery alongside her husband.
