Clarence F. Jarry, 93, of Forest Drive passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Central Vermont Medical Center.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on Independence day in 1925, the son of Henry and Beatrice (Ste. Marie) Jarry. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in the class of 1942.
On May 19, 1947 he married Yvonne Boutin from Island Pond, VT. For over 71 years they shared the most loving marriage any couple could hope for.
Clarence worked for the A&P Tea Company from 1942 until 1977 when he went on to manage the Norwich University Book Store. He retired from that position on June 1, 1988.
He enjoyed sports and played softball for various leagues for many years. He also enjoyed Candlepin Bowling, and horseshoes, and cribbage. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Horseshoe League and the Montpelier Cribbage League. Clarence was a 3rd degree, life time member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne of Montpelier; his children, Claire Pike and her husband, Les of Stowe, VT, Susan Markoff and her husband Ned of Webster, MA, Joanne Arey and her husband Dana of Enfield, NH, and Paul Jarry and his wife Pamela of South Burlington, VT; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Guare & Sons Funeral Home.
