IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina
Audy
July 28, 1937 – September 15, 2024
Moretown, VT
On Sunday September 15th, Christina Belle Langlois Davy Audy, loving wife, mother, grandmother, cook, baker, gardener, avid hunter and lover of the outdoors, passed away at the age of 87.
Christine was born on July 28th 1937 to Vincent and Ileen Langlois of Montpelier, Vermont. Christine grew into an amazing young woman who raised a family for years in Middlesex, Vermont with her first husband, James Davy, with whom she had 6 children. Christine and James divorced some years later and Christine went on to raise her children until she met and married John Audy Sr. John and Christine built a life in Moretown, Vermont. They worked together running their own painting business and at Woodbury College until retirement.
Christine had a variety of interests outside the aforementioned, including visiting a medium, reading, studying the bible, sewing and putting puzzles together. However, she was an old timey pioneer woman at heart, who cared most for her family. Christine loved growing her own garden and hunting her own food while canning everything she could. She was referred to as "She who digs in dirt" a Native American name given to her fondly due to her ancestry, natural talent, and love of gardening. She took pride in feeding her loved ones. The most important ingredient was the love she poured into every meal. You could never walk through her door without her saying, "have yous had anything to eat" or, "yous hungry?" If you showed up to visit you could expect to be greeted with a big smile, given a tour of the latest growing in her garden, and get the latest update on all the birds, deer, bear, squirrels, chipmunks or anything else that passed through her yard. Everyone was equally important, whether human or critter, she had her eye on you.
For as long as she was able, she took care of everything in her life plants and people, alike. She had an overpowering and unwavering love for her family. Her ability to blanket all who entered her life with an unbiased and pure love was remarkable. Christine was socially outgoing and attracted people of all ages. Her heart was so big you couldn't be within a hundred-mile radius and not feel loved. She was a second mother to many and took in and cared for children often that were not her own.
Christine is survived by many who loved her beyond words and surrounded her bedside during her last days sharing stories and laughter that we are certain warmed her heart. Survivors include her 6 children and their spouses: James (Cricket) and Dot Davy, Rita and Jeff Rounds, Nora and Jay Haggett, Cara and Allen Herring, Lisa and Victor Blankenship, and Vincent Davy. 8 grandchildren whom she doted on and adored: Michael Herring, Mandy Herring, Mindy Isaak, Jessie Harrison, Katie Ward-Brown, Jessie Lacombe, Christopher Walka and Kyle Davy. 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. In addition, she is survived by two sisters Dorothy Lee and Nancy Whitney, and a brother, Vincent Langlois.
Graveside services will be held at Middlesex Center Cemetery: 485 Center Rd Middlesex VT 05602, on Saturday October 5th at 10:00 AM and is open to any and all who loved her.
