Carolyn H. Kreis

Barre, VT

Carolyn Heath Kreis, 88, passed away peacefully on 2/17/2025, at Woodridge Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Born on 11/25/1936 to Arthur and Gladys (Smith) Heath in Cabot, VT. She attended schools in multiple towns in the area and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1954.

She was first married to Randall Houghton and they had a son Gregory Houghton.

She then married Gene Kreis in 1963. They had a son, Garey Kreis, and a daughter, Kelly (Kreis) Lima. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren. After retiring, Gene and Carolyn moved to their home in North Hero, VT. Winter months were spent in Tucson, AZ where they enjoyed sightseeing, exploring new areas, and golfing with great friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Arthur Jr. and Roger as well as a sister, Paula (Heath) Johnson.

She is survived by sons, Gregory Houghton (Donna), and Garey Kreis (Andrea), and daughter, Kelly (Kreis) Lima (Donald) as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Woodridge Nursing Home for the exceptional care they provided.

There are no visiting hours and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
