Carole Lorraine (Sylvester) White-78, of Gainesville, Florida (formerly Barre), passed away on May 27, 2025, at Ayers Health & Rehab in Trenton, FL after many years of declining health. Carole was born in Barre on October 23, 1946, to Guy Sylvester and Elinor (Bacon Sylvester Greenwood) Prevost. On July 27, 1963, she married Edward G White. Jr, and they had four beautiful daughters together: Terri Lynn Jerome, Lori Ann White, Darcie Marie White & Trista Lee LeBlanc. Carole was the proudest of her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She always strived to have a close-knit network of family and friends. She was known for her phone calls to "check in" and see how you are doing. You should consider yourself special if you were on her call list. She loved human connections and was a people person. She was the glue that held her family together. Carole worked for many years at the Tavern as a server in the coffee shop. She went on to have a rewarding career with Vermont Mutual. She was most proud of her educational accomplishments, while working her way up to a Personal Lines Underwriter. Carole set goals and worked hard for everything she was blessed with in her life. She instilled this ethic in her daughters as well. Carole will be dearly missed by her family and friends. They will especially miss her cheeky smile which signaled she was either saying or thinking something mischievous. Also, when you broke through her hard shell and got to her softness that was only shown to those who were willing to take the time to get there.

She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings Cleon (Bobby), Merle, and Martha Greenwood, daughter, Terri Jerome, granddaughter Sonja Jerome, and ex-husband Edward White.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori, Darcie & Trista. Grandchildren Douglas & Megan Jerome, Kyle & Cory Huddleston, Kaileigh White, Michael and Lindsay Ralph as well as seven great grandchildren. Sister-friend Rose Jackman, and many other extended family and friends, too numerous to list.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, beginning at 11 AM at Guare & Sons Funeral Home, directly followed by a burial service at Berlin Corner Cemetery. Once the burial service is completed, please join her family at the Canadian Club to celebrate her life.
