It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmel Ann Laplant, a cherished mother, who left us on August 18, 2023, at the age of 66. Carmel was born on June 4, 1957, in Montpelier, Vermont. Carmel spent her entire life creating lasting memories and touching the hearts of those around her. She was the strongest of women in mind, body and spirit.
As a loving and devoted mother, Carmel found immense joy in raising her three sons, Travis Edson, Justin Edson, and Joshua Laplant. She gave her unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love, making sure her boys knew they were her greatest treasures. Her memory will forever live on through them as they navigate life, carrying her love with them every step of the way.
Carmel had a compassionate spirit and always had a kind word, eager to help those in need. She was known for her warm smile and the ability to brighten anyone's day with her infectious laughter. Her genuine nature and caring heart left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Carmel had many hobbies and interests. She loved all things unicorns, munching on Hershey chocolate squares, playing solitaire and completing crossword puzzles, she loved that silly, yellow character SpongeBob, she enjoyed coloring and collecting unicorn chachkies.
Carmel is survived by her three beautiful sons Travis Edson, Justin Edson and Joshua Laplant. Her siblings are Phylis Winters, Robet Lissor, Mark Lissor, Cathie Freeman, and Luanne Bailey. She is also survived by many grandchildren, those include Destiny Edson, Cameron Edson, Layla Laplant, Phoenix Laplant, Cadence, Heaven Anderson and Chaunte May. She was predeceased by her mother Shirley Getchell, her father Hugh Fredrick Lissor and her brother Matthew Lissor.
In keeping with her wishes, Carmel will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held to honor her beautiful spirit in the coming days. Gathered together, family and friends will find solace and comfort as they share stories, memories, and celebrate the incredible woman Carmel was.
Although her physical presence may no longer be with us, Carmel's legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. Her love, kindness, and selflessness will forever be remembered.
We extend our deepest condolences to Josh Laplant, Travis Edson, Justin Edson, and all of Carmel's loved ones during this difficult time. May the love and support of family and friends provide comfort, and may Carmel's beautiful soul find eternal peace.
