IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie Powers
Cane
August 4, 1954 – November 22, 2022
Worcester, VT
Bonnie (Powers) Cane passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on November 22, 2022 at the age of 68. Bonnie was a beloved member of her very large family. She married Larry Cane on March 11,1972. She was predeceased by Larry in 2003. Bonnie and Larry were the parents of Craig Cane (wife Carolyn, daughter Kaitlin and great grandchildren, Elijah and MiaBella) and Kris Belisle (husband Paul, grandchildren Kelby, Seth, Justin, Hunter, Parker, Paige, Chelsea, Kaitlyn and great grandchildren Ryder, Caiden and Jayce). She is also survived by Larry's siblings, Tim (Lidie) Cane and Debbie (Paul) Winters and their children who also loved her very much.
Bonnie was the daughter of Ray and Carolyn (Richardson) Powers and the oldest of their eight children. She was predeceased by her brother Gary Powers in 1985 and later her father, Ray Powers in 2007. Her remaining siblings are Raeanne Beauregard (Richard), Scott Powers (Karen), Lisa Edson (Jim Sanborn), Sheila Powers Dougherty (David), Brian Powers (Robin) and Jan Cameron (Bob). Bonnie has 15 nieces/nephews and many, many more great nieces/nephews.
Bonnie lovingly chose to be a stay at home mother for many years and she opened her home to provide childcare for others for a period of time. As her children became more independent, she worked for the Vermont Housing Authority, then later, the Concord Group Insurance. Bonnie retired from Union Mutual Insurance Company. Upon her retirement she was the primary caregiver for her mother for a number of years.
As a born nurturer, Bonnie never wanted others to "make a fuss" for her as she was busy making sure the rest of us were okay. Her wishes were that we all remember her with a smile and not with sadness or tears. Bonnie requested a simple graveside committal service with her family which will be held later in the spring. A celebration of life will be planned to honor Bonnie in the spring as well.
